Check it out!

Hello All! :)

My lovely mother is now a member of the blogger world! She hasn't posted much yet, but she will be posting all the cute jewelry she makes, so go check her out please! View her blog here, at Cheryl's Crafty Jewelry :)

Also...be on the lookout for my next post...I'm attempting (for the FIRST TIME EVER) to make a 3 tier topsy turvy cake with fondant for my sister's sweet sixteen birthday, and of course I will have to blog about my experience!

Modge Podge Kitchen Drawers :)

Well, I finally updated the drawers in my kitchen!

I moved into a new house back in December. The walls were red and a yellowish color (reminded me of McDonald's) and the cabinets were an off-white (from cigarette smoke i believe). Anywho...i painted the kitchen walls chocolate brown (yum!) and we repainted the cabinets white (bright white). My accent color for the brown is a bright green. Oh, also, the cabinets and drawers had these not so cute gold handles on them....so i replaced those as well!

We painted the cabinets back in January, but still had not painted the doors or the drawers....therefore our cabinets have been completely open. After coming across a new blog, Modge Podge Rocks, I decided I wanted to spruce up my cabinet drawers after painting them and before finally placing them in my new kitchen!

I went to my local craft store...Hobby Lobby to be exact :) ....and bought some scrapbook paper in my accent color and got to modge-podging!

Here are some before and after pictures of my drawers!

This is what the drawers looked like before they received the new paint job

The inside...eww :/

Michael helped me paint!

...so much better!

Here is the finished product!

We still have a long way to go with our kitchen remodeling, but at least the cabinets are all most done! We are hoping to get a new fridge, new stove and redo the floor tile, the counters and the backsplash. It will be such an improvement when we finish! I can't wait :D

Scrabble Tile Jewelry

Finally! Another post :)

Remember how I said I get my CrAfTiNeSs from my mom? Well...this blog is for her! Like myself, my mom likes to make her own jewelry and when she sees something she likes, she tries to make it herself.

Lately she has been into making scrabble tile pendants and they are super cute!!

The one in the middle with the pink owl is mine :)

She is selling these pendants too! You can get a pendant by itself, with a ball chain necklace, or as a ring. AND....she takes reguests...if you have a special picture or graphic you love, she can place them on a scrabble tile for you!
Here are some samples...

Hand Painted Eggs

Okay, so i really should have posted this back in April.... After easter...but oh well. I wanted to post another craft but haven't started any yet!

Rest assured though, i am on vacation, so i will get to crafting :)

Anywho...this easter i wanted to spruce up my easter eggs for the family hunt and decided to use acrylic paint, colored sharpies, and a stylus to create some some super cute designs!

A couple of the designs are images from Wendy Lovoy at Sips-N-Strokes.....

this one i painted with some friends :)....here are some pictures of that awesome girls night!...

The designs can also be done on hollow eggs (by making holes at the ends of the eggs and blowing out the yolk) and used for decorations such as hanging from a tree or mantel!

Remember though...if you decide to decorate the eggs for your easter egg hunt, don't use the sharpies or acrylic on cracked eggs!

Stamp it up!

When my friend Jenna introduced me to Etsy, I fell in love with all the metal stamped jewelry!
Anytime  i see something i like, my first thought is "Could i make that?"

I am a beginner stamper, but i love it! I have always enjoyed making jewelry, which i thank, in part, to my mom because she is always making jewelry!

To begin my jewelry stamping, i bought some plain metal discs of a variety of metals from Etsy.com, and i bought a set of alphabet/number stamps in a basic font. I actually bought 3 different sizes too! I look forward to the day that i can buy the super cute fancy fonts! (They are pretty expensive though.)

I have an assortment of glass beads (another favorite of mine) because they are great to make different jewelry pieces with. This is what i combined with my stamps to make these adorable bracelets :)

ps...my mom helped me with this idea because she wanted an initial stamped bracelet for mother's day...of course i added my own touch :)

pps...haha can you tell i love smiley faces?!!

This is my mom's bracelet. Her name is Cheryl.

... the other side...

I also made one for Antonya for her birthday!

Here is Antonya modeling her Bday gifts made by yours truly...

I also made this name tag a few months ago for my puppy  :)

Flower headbands :)

So...I came across this super cute headband and figured... "I could make that!"
And I did :)

Step 1: I took a simple plastic headband and wrapped it with a ribbon.

Step 2: I made the flowers out of silk fabric and singed the edges.

Step 3: I attached the flowers onto the headband and voile!

I made this one for my friend Antonya for her birthday!

...then she requested another in black :)

Now I think I need to make one for myself!
